2007 Gaming
Games I've beaten in order of completion, along with numbered scores (as opposed to taking the time to type stuff out; also, totally based on the EGM scale).

Elite Beat Agents (DS) - 8
Maverick Hunter X (PSP) - 8
Mega Man Powered Up (PSP) -8
Sonic and the Secret Rings (Wi) - 6.5
Castlevania Portrait of Ruin (DS) - 6.5
SSX Blur (Wii) - 4.5
SSX (PS2) - 8.5
Gunstar Super Heroes (GBA) - 5
Kirby's Adventure (NES) - 8
Kirby's Dreamland (GB) - 7
Spider-man 2 (PS2) - 7
God of War (PS2) - 8.5
Drill Dozer (GBA) - 7.5
Super Paper Mario (Wii) - 8
Condemned (360) - 7.5
Mega Man 6 (NES) - 8
Mega Man 5 (NES) - 8
Mega Man 4 (NES) - 8
Mega Man 3 (NES) - 8
Mega Man 2 (NES) - 8 (What can I say? I played them in the span of a week, it blurred together)
Crackdown (360) - 7
Gitaroo Man (PS2) - 7
Parappa the Rappa 2 (PS2) - 6
Metroid Prime 2 (GC) - 8.5
Bioshock (360) - 8.5
Sonic Rush Adventure (DS) - 8
Halo 3 (360) - 8
Heavenly Sword (PS3) - 5.5
Rhythm Tengoku (GBA) - 7.5
Portal (360) - 9
Half-Life 2 (360) - 9.5
Half-Life 2 Episode One (360) - N/A? Hard to score on its own, it simply feels like more HL2. Which is awesome.
Half-Life Episode Two (360) - Same.
Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3) - 8
Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) - 9.5
Shining Force 3 Scenario 1 (Saturn) - 7.5
Nights: Journey Into Dreams (Wii) - 5.5
Burnout Legends (PSP) - 8
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (360) - 6.5
Tomb Raider Anniversary (360) - 8

DS - 3
PSP - 3
Wii - 5
PS2 - 5
GBA - 3
GB - 1
360 - 10
NES - 6
GC - 1
PS3 - 2
Saturn - 1
Total - 40

My original goal was 36 for the year, which I honestly believed I wouldn't reach, so I'm happy. I had something between 11-13 last year, so this rocks.

Top 5 Games of the Year
1. Half-Life 2
2. Super Mario Galaxy
3. Portal
4. SSX
5. God of War

Stance on Next-gen
1a. Xbox 360 - Easily featured the most interesting games this year. A beast machine, but doesn't forbid low-budget releases (Earth Defense Force 2017 being the best example).
1b. I'm honestly afraid to play the system for relatively long periods of time. Don't see very many next-year exclusives that interest me.
1c. Upcoming games I'm hyped for: Ninja Gaiden 2

2a. PSP - Bought this year and I already own 28 titles for it. The Slim's new features allowed me to improve the much-maligned battery life (though it was only by luck that I was able to do it for very, very cheap). Remote Play is a revolutionary feature.
2b. As you can tell from my list of games beaten, I've only seen a few of those 28 titles to completion. I've been more interested in console games this year. And after such a strong 2007, it's a bit scary to see how slim 2008's release list looks up to this point.
2c. Upcoming games I'm hyped for: God of War: Chains of Olympus, Wild Arms FX

3a. Playstation 3 - Very powerful and very slick. My favorite selection of downloadable titles. Strong first-party support. Warhawk is one of only a few online games to every really hold my interest.
3b. As with the PSP, most of the attention I would've thrown its way has been stolen by the 360. I've only sat down with a couple of individual games long enough to see them through. Third party support is lacking.
3c. Upcoming games I'm hyped for: Metal Gear Solid 4, White Knight Story (assuming it even makes next year), LittleBigPlanet, Haze

4a. Wii - The Virtual Console has a great selection and surpassed my expectations by selling import titles within its first year. First party titles continue to show mastery of how the motion controls should be handled. Super Mario Galaxy looks good enough to be a 360 game.
4b. Most developers don't know a damn thing about how to use the console. Two revivals of some of my favorite games bombed (SSX and Nights). The people who buy it in my store annoy the fuck out of me.
4c. Upcoming games I'm hyped for - No More Heroes, Super Smash Bros. Brawl

4a. DS - Still getting lots of support and still lots of games from previous years I need to play through.
4b. The support it's getting right now doesn't interest me much; this was a very weak year relative to how well the handheld had been doing. 2008 doesn't look much better so far.
4c. Upcoming games I'm hyped for: Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. I can't think of a single other game, sadly: my expectations for Ninja Gaiden DS are zero.
